On the 5th and 6th December, NOVACT and Forum des Alternatives Maroc (FMAS) organized a Training on radio journalism in Rabat.
As the community radios don’t enjoy a legal status yet, the Moroccan society is organizing themselves to get free media and promote freedom of expression in the country using digital platforms to promote these kind of medias.
This training, that is part of the project CONSOLIDAR, aimed to reinforce the technical and ethics habilities between youth actors from the civil society into the production and animation of the radio broadcasts. The training approached the following components:
(I) Associative radios in our community; (II) Production and animation of a radio program (design, creation, production and diffusion); (III) Relationship between content and technology. How to create sources of truthful information?; (IV) Exchanging experiences of representatives of youth associations.
The project CONSOLIDAR , funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, has as objective, among others, the development of a legal regulation for community radios. In this regard, NOVACT together with FMAS have elaborated and submitted to the Moroccan parliament a legislative proposal focusing on the need to provide a legal regulation and recognize community radios . This proposal was presented at press conference on November 17.
