What kinds of violent extremism can be found in Catalonia? What is the situation regarding right-wing extremism, violent jihadism, LGTBIQ+phobia, Islamophobia or institutional racism in our society? Can they be tackled from a common framework? How do anti-terrorism policies impact on human rights? How can we generate responses from an alternative paradigm of prevention?

The conference Think, Create and Resist will tackle all these questions by
creating a space for debate and exchange between institutions and civil
society. The aim is the development of a common and coordinated response between the different actors of Catalan society for the prevention of violent extremism in all its forms.

The opening will be presented by Ill. Mr. Marc Serra Alderman for Citizenship Rights and participation of the Barcelona City Council, Hon. Sr. Chakir El Homrani, Councillor of the Department of Labour, Social Welfare and families Labour, and Hon. Mr. Alfred Bosch, Councillor of Foreign Action, Institutional Relations and Transparency and the codirector of NOVACT Luca Gervasoni.

An event organised by NOVACT and OPEV, with the support of Barcelona City Council, the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Catalan International Institute for Peace (ICIP).
