ABOUT NOVACT
NOVACT (www.novact.org) is an independent non-profit association with headquarters in Barcelona and offices in Madrid and Cáceres (Spain), Ramallah (Palestine), Tunis (Tunisia), Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf (Algeria) and Amman (Jordan).
Our aim is to promote nonviolent actions for social transformation towards the defense of human rights, human security and social justice. The organization’s international cooperation projects in the Maghreb and Mashreq regions are combined with political-social advocacy strategies in Catalonia, Spain and the rest of Europe.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Overall Objective
The person will have to coordinate different projects linked to the field of the construction of peace, cooperation to the development and humanitarian aid. As well as be the responsible person and representative of the office and work of Novact in Jordan.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage, give follow-up and justify projects of cooperation ensuring his execution and coherence with the strategic plan of the organization.
Planning
Identify and monitor risk situations for the project delivery and activities implementation and recommend remedial actions as appropriate.
- Coordinate and supervise the deliverables on time and form.
- Define and review the project work plan and financial plan, according to NOVACT and Donors requirements.
Ensuring its execution
- Coordinate the project activities and an effective communication with the stakeholders to facilitate the project implementation.
- Supervise the implementation of all activities and tasks in line with the corresponding work plan and budget.
- Organize and conduct field visits;
- Organize and facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops, as required.
Justification and evaluation
- Contribute to the capitalization of experiences of the projects as well as to the diffusion of best practices.
Project Budget Management:
- Supervise budget management of the project and ensure delivery of budget as per approved work plans.
- Prepare and ensure timely submission of quarterly financial consolidated reports, quarterly consolidated progress reports, and any other reports as may be required by NOVACT or the Donors.
Formulation and Strategy:
- Identify and formulate projects of cooperation of development as of humanitarian aid in Jordan (international and national donors), in coordination with the coordinator of the Mashreq area.
- Participate in mechanisms of coordination and collaboration between different actors of the field.
- Participate in the preparation of annual plans of activities and periodic reports of the area of the Middle East.
Members’ Support and Institutional Representation:
- Technical accompaniment to the partners.
- Participate in mechanisms of coordination and collaboration between different actors of the field.
- Institutional representation with donors, local and international organizations, civil society venue and other notable actors.
Office and Novact in Jordan:
- Contribute the technical management and to the daily coordination of the office (accounting, logistical and planning) in the coordination with the Administration and financial officer.
- Manage legal administrative subjects with Jordan, related with the visas, register of the entity and others that are necessary.
Communication: Support the work of advocacy and communication and contribute to the preparation of a strategy of communication and advocacy from the field.
ABOUT YOU
You are a person of integrity with strong personal values, aligned with our mission and especially committed to nonviolent principles such as transformative strategies, human rights advocacy and global justice.
It is necessary to show
- Upper studies preferably in Social Sciences, Law, Political Sciences, International Relations, Communication or Journalism.
- Training/provable experience in cooperation and preferably under peacebuilding.
- Experience of work of at least 3 years managing projects of international cooperation, preferably in matter of Human rights, and Peacebuilding funded by the Catalan Agency of Cooperation to the Development, the European Union, the AECID, United Nations or the City council of Barcelona.
- Availability to travel sporadically to other points of the region, like the Kurdistan Iraqi and Syrian.
- Knowledge of office and other software related.
- Knowledge and oral expression and written fluent in English and Spanish.
- Problem-solving capacity and work in team.
- Proactive attitude, flexibility and adaptation to the changes.
Highly valued
- Knowledge and/or studies in Human rights as well as peacebuilding.
- Experience in investigation and advocacy in the field of the peacebuilding.
- Experience of at least 2 years of work in the region and knowledge of the same
- Knowledge of Catalan and Arabic languages.
- Handle of Internet and social networks.
- Class B driving license.
- Participation in social movements.
