The Institute Novact of Nonviolence is a non-profit association dedicated to conflict transformation and peacebuilding. It has been working in the Euro-Mediterranean region for more than 20 years<\/span><\/span>.<\/h2>\n

History<\/h1>\n

NOVACT was founded by a group of former conscientious objectors to the Spanish army during the Franco dictatorship. They created the association to share their experience in conflict transformation with the people. They aimed to work with individuals who organized themselves in response to violations of their rights, with the goal of contributing to a peaceful, just, dignified, and equitable world.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_id=”no-violencia” el_class=”will-fadeIn”][vc_column width=”1\/12″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”6\/12″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Nonviolence<\/h1>\n

Nonviolence is the idea that inspires NOVACT’s political thinking and is at the core of its organizational mission, strategy, and all its actions.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Nonviolence is not confined to the negation or absence of direct violence in any form. Instead, nonviolence manifests as a project of social, individual, and collective transformation, founded on the principles of full democracy, the pursuit of human security, the defense of human rights, and the safeguarding of the commons. Where we work<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

NOVACT<\/span> operates in 14 countries across the Euro-Mediterranean region. Geographically, our intervention is divided into three regions: the <\/span><\/span>Maghreb<\/span><\/span>, with the central office located in <\/span><\/span>Tunis<\/span><\/span> and another in the <\/span><\/span>Sahrawi Refugee Camps of Tindouf<\/span><\/span><\/strong>;<\/strong> the <\/span><\/span>Mashreq<\/span><\/span>, with the central office in Amman, <\/strong><\/span><\/span>Jordan<\/span><\/span>, and one in Ramallah, <\/span><\/span>Palestine<\/span><\/span><\/strong>;<\/strong> and finally, Europe, with the central office in <\/span><\/span>Barcelona<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and additional offices in <\/span><\/span>Madrid<\/span><\/span> and <\/span><\/span>Extremadura<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section full_width=”stretch_row_content” el_id=”missio”][vc_row el_class=”will-fadeIn” el_id=”missio-flotant”][vc_column width=”1\/12″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”11\/12″][vc_column_text el_id=”missio-text”]<\/p>\n

Mission<\/h1>\n
