Multakana means a \u201cplace of meeting\u201d in Arabic.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/6&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]The forum is divided into two parts. The first part consists in a month-long activity in which participants attend an online course focusing on the following themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThe Sociopolitical Context of the Mashriq Region\u201d by David Perejil, journalist and international relations analyst and NOVACT\u2019s Mashreq coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cNonviolent Fight\u201d with journalist Thais Bonilla, and NOVACT\u2019s specialist in strengthening human rights defenders.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cGender and Conflicts\u201d with Nour Al-Hussen Villa, politologist and PhD student specialising in the civil society of war-torn Syria.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cClimate Impact on Conflicts\u201d with Moussa Bourekba, researcher at the CIDOB.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cActivists in Exile and Identity Transformation\u201d, with Georges Azzi, activist for LGBTIQ+ rights at the KUDWA Association.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/6&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;imatges-row&#8221;][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;490&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/6&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]The forum will also allow participants to build networks, exchange experiences on peacebuilding and activism, and practise what they learn through online training capsules, as well as from the experiences of other fellow activists.<\/p>\n<p>There will be 20 UAB students participating in the forum, 5 of whom hold UAB refugee grants for people from conflict zones and 10 volunteers from the FAS Welcome Refugee Programme.
