On Monday, November 6th, the <\/span>Novact Institute of Nonviolence<\/span><\/b>, in collaboration with Suds and Ir\u00eddia, will launch “The Nonviolence Factory,” the <\/span>first international school for activists<\/span><\/b>, with a focus on promoting strategies to confront authoritarianism and defend human rights, peace, and democracy in the Euro-Mediterranean region.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/6″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”destacat-row”][vc_column][vc_column_text]This<\/span> first<\/span> edition<\/span> will<\/span> take<\/span> place <\/span><\/span>from<\/span> November<\/span> 6th <\/span>to<\/span> 8th,<\/span><\/span> bringing<\/span> together<\/span> over<\/span> 80 representatives <\/span>from<\/span> organizations<\/span> in <\/span>Algeria<\/span>, <\/span>Tunisia<\/span>, Palestine, Western Sahara, <\/span>Morocco<\/span>, <\/span>Jordan<\/span>, <\/span>Spain<\/span>, <\/span>Syria<\/span>, Iraq, <\/span>Iran<\/span>, <\/span>Italy<\/span>, France, <\/span>Belgium<\/span>, Romania, and <\/span>Turkey<\/span> to<\/span> receive<\/span> training <\/span>in civil<\/span> resistance<\/span> and <\/span>the<\/span> promotion<\/span> of<\/span> human <\/span>rights<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/6″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]The<\/span> summit<\/span> will<\/span> be <\/span>held<\/span> against<\/span> the<\/span> backdrop<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> ongoing<\/span> escalation<\/span> of<\/span> violence<\/span> in Palestine and Israel. In <\/span>this<\/span> context<\/span>, “<\/span>The<\/span> Nonviolence<\/span> Factory” aspires <\/span>to<\/span> be<\/span>come<\/span> a <\/span>reference<\/span> point<\/span> for<\/span> presenting<\/span> alternatives <\/span>based<\/span> on<\/span> the<\/span> defense <\/span>of<\/span> democratic<\/span> values<\/span>, <\/span>nonviolence<\/span>, <\/span>respect<\/span> for<\/span> all<\/span> lives<\/span>, and <\/span>the<\/span> protection<\/span> of<\/span> Human <\/span>Rights<\/span>. <\/span>Not<\/span> only<\/span> in Gaza, <\/span>but<\/span> the<\/span> Euro<\/span>–<\/span>Mediterranean<\/span> region<\/span> continues <\/span>to<\/span> evolve<\/span> into<\/span> a <\/span>hostile<\/span> environment<\/span> for<\/span> freedoms<\/span> and fundamental <\/span>rights<\/span>. <\/span>We<\/span> believe<\/span> it<\/span> is<\/span> urgent<\/span> to<\/span> reflect<\/span> on<\/span> how<\/span> to<\/span> confront<\/span> this<\/span> authoritarianism<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/6″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”destacat-row”][vc_column][vc_column_text]The<\/span> Nonviolence<\/span> Factory<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>will<\/span> host <\/span>organizations<\/span> such<\/span> as <\/span><\/span>Euromed<\/span> Rights<\/span>, <\/span>the<\/span> Tunisian<\/span> League <\/span>for<\/span> the<\/span> Defense <\/span>of<\/span> Human <\/span>Rights<\/span> (Nobel <\/span>Peace<\/span> Prize<\/span> winners<\/span>), <\/span>Addameer<\/span>, <\/span>The<\/span> Popular <\/span>Struggle<\/span> Coordination<\/span> Committee<\/span> (Palestine), <\/span>Alhaq<\/span> (Palestine), 7amleh (Palestine), and <\/span>Sahrawi<\/span> activist<\/span> Aminetou<\/span> Haidar<\/span>, <\/span>among<\/span> others<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/6″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]During<\/span> these<\/span> three<\/span> days<\/span>, <\/span>we<\/span> will<\/span> organize<\/span> many<\/span> workshops <\/span>on<\/span> climate<\/span> justice<\/span>, defense <\/span>of<\/span> rights<\/span> under<\/span> occupation<\/span> and <\/span>police<\/span> control, legal <\/span>advice<\/span> for<\/span> human <\/span>rights<\/span> defenders<\/span>, <\/span>peacebuilding<\/span>, and <\/span>nonviolent<\/span> resistance<\/span>, <\/span>among<\/span> others<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Different<\/span> s<\/span>paces<\/span> for<\/span> dialogue <\/span>between<\/span> organizations<\/span> and human <\/span>rights<\/span> defenders<\/span> will<\/span> also<\/span> be <\/span>prov<\/span>i<\/span>de<\/span>d<\/span> to<\/span> streng<\/span>t<\/span>hen<\/span> t<\/span>h<\/span>eir<\/span> strug<\/span>gles<\/span> and <\/span>estab<\/span>l<\/span>ish<\/span> allia<\/span>nces<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/6″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
