Today’s world is defined by an alarming increase in violence and armed conflicts, with prolonged wars affecting millions of people in places like Ukraine, Syria, and the genocide in Palestine. At the same time, the rise of militarism, increased military spending, and the arms race among states divert essential resources needed to address critical challenges such as climate change, social inequalities, and the protection of human rights.
