Barcelona, epicentre of the global call for Palestine: the ACTxPALESTINE campaign begins

From Barcelona, leading Palestinian organisations for human rights, peace, humanitarian aid and culture are launching the international campaign ACTxPALESTINE, together with a wide network of organisations from Europe and the Mediterranean. The campaign is a global call to guarantee humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of Gaza, end the impunity of genocide and occupation, and advance towards freedom, justice and the right of return.

On 14 and 15 November, Barcelona will become the epicentre of an exceptional mobilisation. Palestinian organisations and Euro-Mediterranean networks will present a call for action marking the beginning of ACTxPALESTINE: to intensify international pressure —now that global mobilisation has achieved a ceasefire— to end 77 years of occupation, apartheid and human rights violations in Palestine.

The campaign focuses on:

  • Unconditional access to humanitarian aid and support for the reconstruction of Gaza led by the Palestinian people.
  • Ending impunity, apartheid and occupation, and ensuring the right of return.
  • The role of culture as a tool for resistance and for rebuilding memory and identity.

Launch event | 15 November
In an unprecedented moment, representatives of Palestinian organisations and international voices will publicly present the global call and roadmap of ACTxPALESTINE.

The event will include musical performances and the premiere of the audiovisual manifesto by Massive Attack, “Who Will Be the Watershed?”, which draws a parallel between the boycott of South African apartheid and the current struggle of the Palestinian people.

Unsilence Forum | 14–15 November
During a weekend steeped in memory and geopolitics —50 years since the occupation of Western Sahara and 30 years since the Barcelona Process— the Unsilence Forum will bring together human rights organisations, social movements, activists and intellectuals to debate, share experiences and develop joint strategies.
The programme will combine conferences, workshops, performing arts, concerts, exhibitions and spaces for exchange, with a focus on intergenerational, community and intercultural dialogue.

Catalonia–Palestine Match | 18 November, 6:30 p.m.
The Catalonia National Team and the Palestine National Team will play a historic match at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium. Sport once again becomes a tool for international visibility and social cohesion in a context of genocide and apartheid that has also affected Palestinian football.

XPALESTINE Manifesto Concert | 29 January
The Palau Sant Jordi will host a major manifesto-concert to place Palestine at the centre of the struggle for global justice. More than a fundraising event, it is an artistic and political statement defending culture as a space of resistance and reconstruction. Proceeds will go to cultural institutions and projects in Palestine.
