Speaker Profiles
Sònia Olivella: Criminal defense lawyer specializing in international criminal law at Eslabón Abogacía. She will discuss the recent Communication submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Committee regarding the forced disappearance of a woman in Guipúzcoa in 1936. She will focus on the legal challenges of prosecuting such crimes in Spain.
Anna Miñarro: Clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst, and researcher. Currently the coordinator of Psychosocial Support in the IV Plan for Exhumations of the Government of the Balearic Islands. She will talk about the first Communication submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Committee, in collaboration with Woman’s Link, concerning the forced disappearance of a couple in Mallorca in 1936. She will emphasize the psychosocial aspects of forced disappearances, particularly the intergenerational transmission of trauma.
Gemma Pascual: Author of the book “Torturadas.” She will present the early cases of torture at Vila Laietana during the early Franco era and the continuity of repression in this space to the present day.
